As Commercial Manager for Heathrow my role is continuously evolving as we understand more and more about our customer needs and what makes a journey through the airport more enjoyable. Heathrow is lucky enough to have some of the most valuable retail space in the world. It is also home to some of the most famous brands, and my role is to maximise that opportunity for the benefit of passengers, the retailers and Heathrow.
From a 12-foot Statue of Liberty carved out of lipstick, to the opening of design and retail award-winning Gucci, Prada and Tiffany stores in Terminal 5, we have brought what I hope have been some magical moments and terrific shopping experiences to our passengers. For me personally it has been the chance to work with some iconic brands and some of the most talented and innovative retail teams in the world.
It never ceases to amaze me the number of different roles which exist at Heathrow, all working towards the same goals. Every person plays their part in ensuring a smooth operation and we all work together to deliver a great customer experience. This is something which makes me feel truly proud. The culture is also great. A pop-up gym recently opened in the office, which I can use for free around my work schedule – brilliant!
