When do you open for applications?
We open for full applications on Tuesday 31st October 2017.
When did applications close?
Application for our 2018 Professional Engineering Development intake closed on Monday 18th December 2017. You can check the status of your application click here.
What is your recruitment process?
Applicants are first asked to complete an online application form, including answering some scenario based questions. Later stages include an online test, video interview, telephone interview and an assessment centre at Heathrow. Full details of each stage will be shared before you are asked to complete each activity.
What are the minimum qualification requirements?
For our Engineering Professional Development Programme you need to have either graduated or be graduating from University by June 2018. You need to have achieved an undergraduate degree in electrical/electronics, civil or mechanical engineering.
Are there any other essential criteria?
You need to be eligible to work in the UK, either as a UK or EU citizen or as the holder of a UK work visa.
In addition, as part of your application you will need to provide references for the last five years from your current or past employers, university, college or school, accounting for any gaps of two weeks or more, including times when you were out of work or on an extended holiday
If you are successful in the process you will need to complete a criminal records check and you may need to complete a counter terrorism check.
Where will the role be based?
You will be primarily based at Heathrow, either in our operation, maintenance facilities or in our head office - the Compass Centre.
When does the scheme start?
Our Engineering Professional Development Programme will start in September 2018.
Are there any age restrictions?
There are no age restrictions for applications. We encourage applications from everybody who fulfils our eligibility criteria.
Do you accept applications from candidates who need a work permit?
Unfortunately we are unable to sponsor international students.
How many roles are there on the scheme?
We are looking to recruit 4 engineers to join us on our 2018 intake.
What sort of salary and benefits will I receive?
Heathrow offers a competitive salary package, our graduate engineers starting salary is £27,500. You will also be eligible to receive a range of benefits, including an annual bonus, and can benefit from discounted airport shopping, travel industry discounts and free usage of our onsite gym.
I have submitted my application, when will I hear from you?
Once you have submitted your application, we’ll send you an email confirming it has been received. In addition, you can also keep track of the current status of your application in your online account area. As your application status changes, we’ll update your account area and send you an email to advise you of next steps.
When will your Assessment Centres take place?
Our Assessment Centres are scheduled to take place in March 2018; please ensure you’re able to attend if you’re selected.
